Hi Whites, I have been a White's metal detector fan since the early 80s. My first Whites' purchase was a TR Discriminator Model Detector. I had great success with that detector searching at a local school that was within walking distance of my home. One day while detecting there, a man approached me and asked for my help in finding his wedding ring. He had lost it the previous week while mowing his lawn and was sure that his ring was mixed in with grass clippings that he had thrown in a nearby ditch. We went through a huge pile of clippings in the ditch and found no ring. He then said that he may have thrown some clippings in his garden as well, and that is where I found his ring. He was so grateful and offered me a reward which I refused. I still have that old TR Discriminator Model Detector and I now have a Whites Prizm IV as well that I have done well with. I plan to move up to a Whites MXT in the near future. Thanks Whites for making great detectors that have kept me coming back for over 20 years. Pete S. |

I live in Kingman AZ and I spend a fair amount of time on the computer and also metal detecting. I just got a White's GMT and I saw on a forum that there was an Outing to hunt for meteorites so I attended. I learned a lot and was pointed in the right direction to hunt. I hunted the first afternoon but nothing, so the next morning I got up, had my coffee and out I went. I think I was the first one out of camp that morning Dec 16th 2006. Well, I returned to the area I was shown, set my machine as was suggested by another detectorist that also had a GMT and after 30 min I got a strong signal. I knew I had a good target. I dug down about an inch and there was a "rock" that was different from the rest. I ran the coil over it and WOW, I knew I had found it. My magnet picked it right up and I returned to camp. Once at camp I showed my find to a couple of experienced hunters and they confirmed...I had my first meteorite, a 102.6 gram find.........Wow! Thanks White's, for a great machine. |
