DFX finds coins

I am most impressed with my White's DFX! I was invited to go with a friend to hunt a Mid 1800's camp ground. I started out finding my first seated coin which is also my oldest coin to date a 1853 1/2 dime! It was followed in just a few minutes with the 1876 seated dime. The next coin was an 1884 Indian Head Penny. Overall a GREAT day! I could not have found these coins without the White's DFX. The ground had tons of old nails and small pieces of iron but the DFX picked out the coins. Thank you White's for making such a great machine!

Rev. Cannon finds a home!

Hi,

I find interesting items whenever I'm metal detecting but this might be one of the best. I had a great article in the newspaper about my metal detecting shop/museum and it talked about my love of history. I got a call from a ninety year old farmer who wanted me to metal detect his site. I went down to his place and found a couple of colonial coins which I gave him and then he said he had something in his barn for me. The farm has been in his family for a couple hundred years and he had a revolutionary war cannon. He wouldn't take money. He just wanted it to have a good home. Life does not get better than this.

Thanks,
Bob

DFX proves itself immediately!

Greetings:

My name is Gary and I have to thank you for a great detector. Twelve years ago I wanted to start metal detecting. I didn't know any better and bought one from a retail store. I used it about a week and did not like the results. I soon returned it to the store.

Well since then, I have always wanted a good metal detector to find some old coins. I did my research and decided on a Whites model, the DFX. I thought I would go for the best. The day after Thanksgiving, yes, Black Friday, the stores were busy. I bought the DFX from our local dealer.

To make a long story short, I started using the DFX in the basic programs and instantly started finding coins. I dug up about $3 in my front yard. I thought to myself, "What a great detector."

I went to a local church and asked for permission to hunt around the property. The Pastor did not have a problem. The first day I found a 1900 INDIAN HEAD PENNY. I was so proud of myself and the choice of detectors. I instantly starting showing the IH to all my friends and family. In fact I was so happy, I quit detecting for the day.

The next day I went back to the church. Thought I would try again to find something old. I was digging clad like crazy and my back was getting tired from all the up and downs. The DFX gave me a loud signal. I crossed checked it and still the same loud reading.

All the coins I was digging including the IH from the day before were between 3-5 inches deep. This strong reading was right at 7 inches. I was debating whether to dig or not and finally decided what the heck. I will make this the last hole for the day.

Well I dug a 6 inch hole and used my bullseye. It vibrated so I knew I was close. Next is the most unbelievable thing. I found, now get this, an 1871 SEATED LIBERTY HALF DOLLAR. It is in near perfect condition for being in the ground for over 100 years.

With your DFX I have found the 1900 IH, 1871 Half, a bunch of wheat pennies, a mens gold ring, a kids silver ring and a bag full of clad.

If I had to quit this hobby today, I would be pleased with the items I have found. BUT, I'm not quitting, and now trying to out do the 1871. I know the DFX can do it, I just have to point it in the right direction.

Thanks again for a great detector.

Gary R.

MXT Goals reached!

Greetings,

I currently own an MXT that I have had for 3 years now. Since the day I got it, I set 6 goals. Number one was to find an indian head penny. I have found five so far. Number two was to find a pre 1900 dime. I have found 2 barber dimes so far. Number three was to find a pre 1900 quarter and 2 weeks ago I found that. It was a day to remember! I am enclosing a photo of the barber quarter I found, I have not had it graded. All I know is that it's in great condition. It was a measured 10 inches deep. I had a weak but repeating signal and a VDI of 84. I was hoping a silver Washington and when I pulled this from the hole, I had to restrain myself from doing a little dance of joy.

I live on Cape Cod and the majority of my time in summer months is spent detecting the beaches here with the MXT and I have had very good results doing so. I generally hunt inland in fall and spring. One day I hope to get a dedicated beach and water detector from Whites because I feel that the MXT was an excellent choice and a water detector from Whites would simply follow suit.

I want to thank the folks at Whites again for making such great detectors. I have written you several times in the past but could not resist doing so again. This may not be a great find to many detectorists but to me it surely is because I achieved another goal.

Oh, goal 5 is to find a pre 1900 silver half dollar, and goal 6 is to find a pre 1900 silver dollar. I know I will achieve these 2 goals eventually, with the MXT it is just a matter of time.

Thank you,
Gordie,
President, Gateway Treasure Hunters Club

Prizm II finds silver!

Hello Whites,

I am an 11 year old who got a Prizm II for my tenth birthday. I live on the Treasure Coast of Florida. I will tell you about a story complementing this wonderful detector. I live near the beach. We have a gazebo on the entrance. Well, I brought my trusty Prizm II to metal detect around there because we live in a private neighborhood and there aren't many people hanging around. Well, I was hunting underneath the gazebo because there are little slits between the planking and I thought it would be the place to find some coins. So I'm hunting underneath it when I get a funny signal. It changed from a nail to a dime really fast. So I just slowed down my speed and it decided on the dime. I pinpointed it. I dug with my hands (which I know is a bad idea because of broken glass) and found a nail. I was genuinely disappointed. So I sweep back over the area and I heard the dime sound again! So I dug and found that elusive dime. Later, at the same location, I found my first piece of jewelry! I was heading in when I got a nice silver signal! I was hoping for one of those Spanish Treasure coins like the ones that Mel Fisher found. No such luck. But it was a nice silver earring with a green stone in the center. Your metal detectors are very high quality. My friends "Brand-X" model was finding nothing but trash and an occasional coin but I was raking in about 10-15 coins for every hour I spent at the park. Thank you, I will continue to buy your detectors in the future.
